Today I am going to share my favorite recipe which is a hot and Sour Soup recipe. This recipe is very rich and full of veggies and this recipe is especially for winter. It is a very healthy and vitamin and protein-full soup because we use different veggies in it. I promise you guys to love This soup recipe because this recipe, especially those who loved veggies and those who don’t like veggies. they also loved it this is a very simple and quick recipe so let us begin the recipe Which is Hot and Sour Soup.


2 and 1/2 tbsp of ketchup

15 to 16 green beans

2 large-size carrots

3 to 4 garlic cloves

1-inch ginger

2 tbsp of white vinegar (malt vinegar)

1-2 fresh green chilies

4 to 5 sliced mushrooms

2 tbsp of chili sauce

3 to 4 celery

2 to 3 tbsp of coriander stems

5 -6 tbsp of oil

2 stars

two dry red chili

2 tbsp of corn flour

1 tbsp of black pepper powder

2 tbsp of salt

4-5 tbsp of thick soya sauce


So to make this soup we need a lot of vegetables. The plus point of hot and sour soup is that a lot of vegetables go into it. Do not be selfish while adding veggies to this soup. Start the preparation of the soup recipe.


Take 15 to 16 green beans and have to be tipped and tailed. Then cut into a diamond shape and take 2 large-size carrots if you do not have red carrots then use Chinese carrots. Cut the Juliet of the carrots into long slices then arrange them one over the other press them and cut them. Then take medium cabbage and chopped it nicely. 3 to 4 garlic cloves remove the skin and chopped them and take 1-inch ginger and chopped them. Take 1 to 2 fresh green chilies and chopped them also.

If you like to eat mushrooms then you should definitely add 4 to 5 sliced mushrooms in this soup because the mushroom gives a nice meatiness to the soup or you can skip the mushrooms. Take 3 to 4 celery and chopped them. Get 2 to 3 tbsp of coriander stems and chopped the sticks finely. These sticks add outstanding flavor to soup recipes or everything whether you make Chinese recipes.


Now bring the pan and add 2 to 3 tbsp of oil into it. Then add ginger and garlic chopped stir it for a minute then add sliced mushrooms because we need to saute them or you may be called brown the mushrooms. That is why we add the mushroom first only. Then add veggies which are chopped cabbage, sliced beans, and chopped carrots. Keep sauteing for 2 minutes. Now add chopped green chilies and keep sauteing them Add chopped celery and stir it for a second because we do not have to make a veggie out of it or overcooked it. Take half a bunch of green onions or spring onions and chopped it for garnish.

Chilli oil;

Take a small pan to make chili oil and add Two stars Two dry red chilies, and 2 tbsp of oil. Cooked it for a minute and do not burn the chili cook slowly and half tsp of chili powder. Once the oil color changes into dark orange or red color then off the flame and keep it aside. When the chili sits down and the oil will come up then chili oil is ready for add.


Make a corn flour mixture you need a small bowl and add Two tbsp of corn flour. Add 1 tbsp of black pepper powder, and 2 tbsp of water now mix it well and make a slurry and make sure not to make lumps.


Add 1 cup of water or you can add vegetable stock. Now add chopped coriander stems and add 2 to 3 tbsp of thick soya sauce. Then add 2 tbsp of chili sauce and mix it well. Add 2 tbsp of white vinegar or malt vinegar can also be added. Because the color of the soup is dark so dark vinegar will also go. Now before adding arrowroot taste it because after adding you won’t get the time to add half tbsp of salt or according to the taste.

Before adding the salt once taste it. Add 2 and 1/2 tbsp of ketchup because you need to understand that where ever you are combining hot and sour there you will have to adjust some sweetness. When your soup flavor is final and then add your cornflour mixture. Stir it well and make sure that your soup becomes a little semi-thick. Because when you add cornflour to the soup then make sure that don’t add too much cornflour into the soup.

When you add too much cornflour in the soup and because of the flavors of veggies, sauce, and spices are. That does not get appreciated the flavor of the taste. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes then off the flame and pure into the serving bowl sprinkled with spring onions add 1 tbsp of chili oil which you prepare before now Hot and sour soup is ready for serve.
