Here is the recipe for the Sweetish dish of Pakistan which is Gur Wale Chawal. This dish contains two things. One is rice and the second is Gur (jaggery ) So it’s called jaggery rice in Europe. You cannot compare this dish with any other sweet dish because of its sweet taste, and its zest is amazing.

A person who tastes Jaggery rice one time will want to eat it again and again. When your neighbours cook jaggery rice(Gur wale chawal) the fragrance of Rice and Gur force you to go to the kitchen of your home to cook it and I hope you have known the speciality of Gur Wale Chawal. In fact, many people do not like sweet sweet dishes normally. But they have different opinions regarding jaggery rice (Gur walay chawal). Now, I am going to explain to you the complete method to cook this dish. The funniest thing is that your heart will force you to cook it daily or again and again and one day you will be perfect at cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg rice
  • 400 grams Jaggery
  • Raisins
  • Almonds
  • Clove
  • Oil
  • 4 to 5 Cardamon
  • Coconut
  • Fennel seeds
  • Water

Method to cook Gur wale Chawal ( Jaggery Rice)

1) Take 400 grams Gur ( jaggery ) in a saucepan. Put on a gentle fire and add one cup of water. Cover with potlid for 8 to 10 minutes. When you feel that (jaggery) gur and water have mixed properly and smack is ready and you will also observe brownish colour then add this in a glass. You put in glass because you will do other tasks then you use it according to to need. Secondly, if you put in a glass then some dust-like particles will settle down and you can skip that portion easily. You know sieve was not enough to remove them because they were too small.

2) Take another cooking pot. Put on fire. Add water. Take more water otherwise, your rice will be too much soft. Cover with a potlid until it starts to boil. Never add rice to cold water. Okay, when water starts to boil then add rice to it. When you feel that 50/ rice has cooked then put off the pot from the fire.

3) Now, pay attention to another task. Take a kettle. Add 3 tablespoons of oil. Put on fast flame.
Add half tablespoon clove, 4 to 5 cardamon, fennel seed and cut pieces of coconut. Now, start to mix and fry. Then add raisins ( kishmish ).

4) Add Gur ( Jaggery ) Smack which is free of dust and clean, it.

5) Now fast the flame. Keep mixing.

6) Now add boiled rice to it. Mix rice carefully otherwise it will look like pudding.

7) During mixing remembers never mix as you mix during cooking curry.

8) Put a piece of cloth on them. Cover with a potlid for 14 to 15 minutes on a gentle fire.

9) Now, your rice is ready. Serve then by spreading raisins, Almonds and coconut upon them. You know this is the best sweet dish. It will feel to you that sweetness is important in life.
